For my first #fridayintroductions I wanted to ask one of my closest friends Meredith to guest post! Meredith was one of the first friends I made when I moved to the states and this past year has seen many adventures for the both of us. Not only have we worked on many shoots together for her brand Tongue In Cheek Chic, but we also started an Influencers group together in Savannah. Meredith is one of the kindest, most fashion forward and intelligent people I know and I'm thrilled to have her here to share with you some tidbits from her life.
Hello! I am so excited to be featured on Andrea’s very first #fridayintroductions. My name is Meredith Barfield and I run a website called Tongue In Cheek Chic. My husband and I live in Savannah, GA with our two dogs, Daisy & Blue. My background is in personal & business tax planning and preparation and my day job is managing the financial operations of our family construction business. I created Tongue In Cheek Chic as a creative outlet for myself and as a way to empower and inspire other women.
Andrea and I met, oddly enough, through Instagram shortly after she and her husband had relocated to Savannah, GA from Toronto. We instantly had a connection and now she is one of my dearest friends! Last year we started Savannah Influencers, a group of women entrepreneurs/ women in business who are interested in giving back to the community and also serving as resources and inspiration to each other. We have an amazing group of ladies and I am so excited to see what impact we can make on our community this year.
So What exactly does Tongue In Cheek Chic mean? TICC is all about living life by your own rules and standards! It’s about embracing what it means to be a Modern Woman. In the South, so many “societal rules” are engrained in the culture and I think it can be too easy to get caught up in “tradition” and what’s expected of you by society and/or family. Living the TICC lifestyle means that you say $&*# doing what people want you to do and live by your own rules! I want to encourage women to be confident, feel beautiful, know their worth and what they are capable of. I want them to have the courage to create a vision for their life and not be afraid to go after that vision in full force!
On another note, I recently launched a t-shirt collection on my website! My go-to office outfit is jeans, a tee and a great pair of heels – so I thought creating a line of TICC inspired tees would be so fun! Some of my favorites are the FEMINIST tee and the GLAMOUR tee. I am working on a few new shirts and will also be adding a few different items as well. Hope you all have a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend. Cheers!
